A $100.00 (CAN) refundable deposit must accompany all applications before they will be processed. A crisp $100.00 bill will be waiting for you in your welcome package when you arrive in Sidney. If you must cancel, please do so before April 15, 1999 to ensure a full refund. Cancellations after that date will need signed doctors’ certificate of illness to qualify for a refund. Otherwise your money will go to help offset prepaid expenses.

Since we anticipate a very large turnout of criers for this competition, we can only guarantee accommodation for the first 90 responding. All others will be on an if available basis. Please reply with your deposit immediately.

All criers and escorts will be billeted with local families, either on a single or double basis, from Monday August 16^th to Sunday August 22^nd only. Accommodation, breakfast, community dinner and basic transportation will be provided daily, during competition. Opening ceremonies will be Monday evening and closing ceremonies will be part of the Awards Brunch on Sunday.

Upon acceptance of your registration, a confirmation kit will be sent to all criers complete with firm schedules, discount coupons and tourist attractions.

Our sister city, Anacortes, Washington, USA (a most scenic three and a half hour ferry ride from Sidney) will once again hold an open competition following the World Championships. Watch your mail for an invitation from the Official Anacortes Town Crier to attend this event.
